Please forward to Ross Hastings

Hi Ross

Thank you so much for the work you and your colleagues are doing with the Cosmos project. I appreciated your comments on the resignation of Bruce Waltke back in April - which I came across by chance the Saturday evening before my first session at Westview on Christian views on the Bible, Creation and Evolution that I describe below.

At Westview, this spring we have been running a few modules in our "Sunday AM Adult Electives" on the general topic of the interaction between Science and Faith. I did four sessions entitled Christian Perspectives on the Bible, Creation and Evolution. I used Denis Lamoureux's table comparing five views, and did a week each on YEC, Progressive creation, Intelligent Design and Evolutionary Creation.

Then Basil Favis, who is a Prof in Chemical Eng at Ecole Polytechnique and attends Westview, did three sessions on a nore general overview of Faith & Science.
Although he did not mention her work, his theme was very much along the line of Jennifer Wiseman's recent paper on Science as an Instrument of Worship.

Based on the interest shown on Basil's presentations it looks like he may be invited to do four sermons sometime next fall on that topic.

So my question to you, and the cosmos project in general is, will you be suggesting some resources, and/or providing some suggested guidance, for pastors of evangelical churches on how to treat the general topic. I realize you are doing some work with a selected small group of pastors, but I am wondering what your plans are to make material available to pastors who were unable to attend your Pastor's conference.

Are you planning some sort of report on the results of the pastor's workshop? If so, I would very much be interested in getting a copy.

Of course we are aware of the wealth of general material already available for example on your Cosmos Web site, the Biologos website, and many, many others on the internet.
